How To Keep Your New Ball Reaction Strong
We strongly believe that Preventative maintenance is the key to a coverstocks longevity!
WHY? The balls ability to absorb lane oil into the pores helps to keep a dry ball surface in contact with the lane for more friction, creating
added hook. Over a period of time, the bowling ball's performance will deteriorate due to oil absorbtion and dirt build up on the ball's
surface.
Using a clean and dry micro fiber towel or shammy between shots can do some of the work. We highly recomend that a bowling ball
cleaner be used immediatly afterward to futher clean the ball's cover. If the ball is used and then put away without cleaning, the oil and
dirt will have a greater chance to be absorbed deeper into the ball.
We hear time and time again from people who have lost hook in their equipment and swear they clean it on a regular basis. Only when
the question is asked about when they clean their equipment does the real problem come to light. Cleaning a ball just before use, only
removes a very fine layer while the deeper oil and dirt has absorbed into your ball from the last session. Below is our recomended
procedure to maintain your ball's performance.
1. Use a clean, dry micro towel or shammy during competion.
2. At the end of the session use a recomended cleaner liberally ower entire surface.
3. Rub your hands over the surface of the ball in a scrubbing motion for 20 seconds.
4. Towel off the ball until dry
This process will assist the degreasing agent in the cleaner to draw oil and dirt out of the pores. The hand action helps break down oil and dirt, making it easier to be removed with a towel.
Here are some more tips to keep that new ball working properly!
1. Do not use alcohol, this will only smear the surface and not remove oil and dirt.
2. Do not use acetone, this can damage the ball's cover. NOT covered under warranty.
3. Do not use soap or detergent, they can soak into the ball and hinder performance.
4. Use a 5 gallon pail of HOT WATER ONLY to remove some of the oil and dirt.
5. Every 10 games scuff your dull ball to maintain reaction.
6. Every 10 games polish your shiny ball to maintain reaction.
7. Every 60 games your ball is due for a complete resurface process.
